Warm Greetings from Korea!

I am Hyewhon Rhim, President of the Association of Korean Woman Scientists and Engineers (KWSE) and Chair of the 6th International Conference for Women in Science and Technology, BIEN 2025.

The BIEN, launched in 2003, is a multidisciplinary academic conference that has grown over the past two decades with the mission of fostering the participation of women in science and technology and creating synergy through cross-disciplinary collaboration. Since its successful inaugural meeting, BIEN has been held very four years, continually expanding its academic reach and strengthening global networks among women in STEM.

BIEN 2025 will be held from August 20 to 22, 2025 at the Hotel ICC in Daejeon, Korea under the theme “Science and Technology without Borders.” This theme reflects our belief that science and technology must transcend national, generational, and disciplinary boundaries to contribute meaningfully to the shared advancement of humanity. In a time of rapid global change, this conference will offer a valuable platform for scientists and engineers from diverse backgrounds to share knowledge and exchange experiences for a sustainable future.

In particular, BIEN 2025 will bring attention to the vital role of women scientists and engineers in driving inclusive and collaborative innovation. It will be an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of diversity in STEM and to explore how the unique talents and perspectives of women can enhance the global impact of science and technology.

BIEN 2025 will feature six scientific fields—Basic Science, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Environment/Earth/Energy, Space Technology, and Gender in STEM—along with two special sessions: Global Top and Industry. In addition, the INWES APNN Meeting and YWS Camp will be held to further enrich international networking and collaboration.
